We phoned B.L. James & Son, who arrived 30 minutes later.
After a brief inspection, Mr. James discovered the origin of the leak -- a clothes washer that needs to be repaired or replaced.
He shut off the water valves to the washer, gave me his card, and started to leave.
When I asked what I owed him, he said, 'Nothing, call me when you have a real problem.'
I certainly will.
