We started Western PA Geothermal back in 1998 to install the most efficient heating and cooling systems in your home, and help you save money by harnessing the Earth's natural heat. In order to pursue some other interests around Butler, I needed the right people to take over. I could only think of one - Schneider's One Hour. They can handle complete residential geothermal installations, from installing the loops in the ground, to installing the equipment and ductwork.

The design, fabrication and installation is custom fit to your particular installation and application. Remember, the system we installed will last and last as long as it's properly maintained. If you already have one and it has been more than a year, please call Schneider's to get it checked, have your software updated and your interior coil cleaned.

If you love their service as much as we hope, we recommend joining their Geo Club so you never have to worry about your system breaking down or losing efficiency.
Services
A long time ago, a building contractor named Darwin Burtner was building a home for a client on a property that didn't have access to natural gas.
The future homeowners didn't want to use oil, propane, OR air source heat pumps.
When Darwin heard geothermal systems harnessed the Earth's energy to power your home, he researched and then proposed it to the homeowners.
They LOVED the idea, and Darwin installed his first geothermal system.
He then started Western Pennsylvania Geothermal Heating and Cooling with Rick Callen in 1998.
Schneider's One Hour's Geo Club helps you most efficiently harness the energy of the Earth to power your home, and save you even more money.

Geothermal systems utilize the stable temperature built up in the earth by storing it in a loop of pipes buried underground.
Water circulates in the loop providing geothermal heating, cooling, and hot water at remarkably high efficiencies when YOU need it throughout the year.
Traditional heating and cooling is inefficient because air temperature varies greatly throughout the year.
Nearly half of the solar energy our planet receives is absorbed by the ground, resulting in a nearly constant temperature of 50 degrees (in our area of Pennsylvania) under the earth's frost line.
With our ever expanding business, Western Pennsylvania Geothermal Heating and Cooling, Inc. and its subsidiary Integrity Insulation are always looking for good, qualified employees.
WPGHCI's standard work week is 7:30 - 4:00 M-F, rarely is anyone asked to work on weekends.
Our commercial crews are accustom to spending 3-4 days per week away from home on job sites.
Our residential crews usually work within two hours of our shop and are seldom asked to travel overnight.
It is not uncommon for WPGHCI employees to be asked to work overtime, or start early on specific days.
First, we need to test thermal conductivity.
Thermal conductivity is a measurement of how easily heat can pass through a given material or formation.
We use something called a Commercial Flush Cart to flush debris and purge air out of large scale commercial loop fields to ensure the system stays clean and sanitary.
