With his Town of Hempstead Master Plumbers license Alex went off on his own and started Alexander the Great Plumbing and continued to study perfected his skills and then eventually took the New York City Master Plumbers exam, which he passed.

As part of a gas safety package, the NYC Council passed Local Law 152 in 2016.
In response to various recent gas-related problems in New York City caused by improper connections, such as theft or service diversion, Local Law 152 was adopted.
Local legislators enacted local regulatory reforms to increase gas safety in New York City, such as requiring periodic interior gas inspections from the point of entry to the end-use equipment, which would effectively cover all pipelines in commercial buildings with three or more family units.
