Russ Krug, President and founder of Heating World, first started out with no more than a hand-painted piece of ply wood for a sign and three wood stoves in his basement. By 1978 Russ Krug and his wife Jeanne moved into their first shop, then known as "The World of Wood Stoves" when the shortage of oil revolutionized the need for wood stoves. As the business developed, inventory grew to include coal, oil, gas, and pellet products which pushed further expansion for two more warehouses.
Russ and Jeanne were soon joined in daily operations by their son Brent. The Krug family became a team, growing the business into a dealership and distributor for many full product lines.
