Services
We're accustomed to being comfortable in our homes, largely because of modern HVAC (Heating Ventilation And Cooling) systems.
Like other machines, those systems sometimes break down, and regularly need service.
That's what we do.
Solar Bear provides a complete range of emergency and routine services for all brands of heating, cooling, duct and ductless home comfort products.
We repair and service all brands, and when your unit can't be repaired, we sell only name-brand units from industry leading manufacturers.
This is a question that we deal with every day at Solar Bear.
Every situation is unique, and the best answer to that question depends on a number of factors including the age of your unit, the overall costs of repairing vs. replacing, and how long you intend to keep your home.
For most of the country, an HVAC unit can last 10 to 15 years.
In certain extreme climates, this may be shorter: in Arizona, for example, the average life of an air conditioner is only 8 to 12 years.
In general, the more severe the climate, the shorter the life of a system.
Changing your air filter at regular intervals is a very good thing to do, but by itself won't keep your ductwork clean of dust, pollen and other particulates that can build up over time.
During construction, it's common for the ductwork to be open and the HVAC fans to be running, which allow the dust and debris of construction to get into the ducts.
Dust, pollen and other pollutants can be drawn into your ductwork if your ductwork is not properly sealed.
Some dust can drift into the vents when the HVAC isn't running.
When you call Solar Bear, our computerized dispatch system will send one of our highly trained technicians to your home as soon as possible.
When the technician arrives in a fully stocked repair truck, they will assess the problem, examine and inspect your system, and give you options to repair or replace your unit to restore your comfort.
Before any work is done, the technician will discuss what they will do, and what the final cost to you will be.
You'll okay the job and the cost, and that cost will be exactly what you pay-no more, no less.
Your home HVAC system needs a complete inspection, tune-up and cleaning at least once a year.
Many people have their air conditioning system serviced in the spring, and their heater serviced in the fall.
In both cases, the units have been sitting idle for several months, and having them serviced right before their busy season can reduce both repair bills and energy costs over the next few months by putting the unit into its best possible operating condition.
Solar Bear uses a 20 point checklist (insert link to checklist here) for both heating and cooling systems.
