The installation of a new bathroom vanity and counter top can transform an outdated bathroom into a contemporary one.
Installing a vanity and counter top is simple to do.
First turn off the water supplies under the vanity.
Next disconnect the supply lines at the valves.
Then disconnect the drain pipit the trap.
Next remove the corner screws that are securing the top of the old vanity to the countertop.
The countertop should then be able to be lifted off of the old vanity.
After the countertop has been separated from the vanity, remove the faucet hardware if you plan on reusing the existing faucet.
Installing a water heater is a job that immediately calls out for plumbing help.
Particularly if your water heater runs on natural gas, this installation demands air tight connections to the gas and water lines.
With a majority of water heaters in the country fueled by natural gas, this is a potentially dangerous job if a natural gas leak is inadvertently created.
Beyond the dangers of dealing with natural gas, there are local building codes that must be followed that cover such items as the materials required for the hot and cold water connections and the proper height and clearance around the unit, which reduces the risk that any fumes could trigger a fire or explosion.
Hot water recirculation systems generally consist of a pump, an integrated electronic controller, and a zone valve.
When the activation button is pushed, or when another type of control turns the system on, the pump starts re-circulating cooled water that's been sitting in the hot water line and sends it back to the water heater through the cold water line.
When the water reaches a desired temperature a control closes the zone valve and turns off the pump.
It is much like turning on the hot water faucet and letting the water run until it gets hot, but instead of the water going down the drain; it is simply returned back to the water heater.
