Services
The Good Guys Heating & Cooling (formerly known as Christensen & Wisnet Heating & Cooling) is a family owned and operated business serving the Fox Valley and surrounding areas since 1966.
Our Christensen family has been in the trade for a century.
We are a proud 5th generation family business and have earned our reputation over the years as "The Good Guys", using it as a slogan since the early 2000's and making it part of our business name in 2020.
We were founded by Earl Christensen and Joseph Wisnet Senior in 1966.
Our family has been in the HVAC trades for 5 generations going back a century.
Our business, Christensen & Wisnet, started after World War II when Earl Christensen came back from service, and started working for his uncle at Schank & Christensen.
When his uncle decided to close up shop instead of selling the business, Earl decided to go into business with Joe Wisnet (senior).
Our shop opened up in 1966 on Outagamie Street in Appleton, WI.
We delivered fuel oil to the valley as well as full service to their heating and cooling systems.
We offer many helpful services to you.
From routine maintenance to installation, free estimates, free second opinions, we can help!
Keep your Heating & Cooling system in peak condition with routine maintenance.
Tune-Ups are recommended yearly by us as well as most manufacturers.
Our tune-ups are detailed and includes checking all critical portions of your equipment as well as cleaning out the equipment.
Over the years we have performed an estimated 150,000+ tune-ups.
Ask our technician about Tune-Up Loyalty Programs!
If you are within our Service Area that means we can do free estimates, installation, service, and tune-ups for you without a question.
If you're over the line, even a little.
We don't like saying "no" to work, however we have seen first hand from our years of service that a line must be drawn.
We believe if we install something that we will be able to service it 24/7.
Our focus is on a small area, but that small area allows us to deliver impeccable service and not stretch ourselves too thin.
We work on primarily with Residential and Light Commercial equipment.
We are fortunate to have a location with a good view of the sky from our office.
As a side project in spring 2020 we have installed a weather camera on a pole above our office.
It gives a great view of the Fox River Mall area as well as the sky in general.
The camera can rotate and zoom.
The images and video are free to use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
This camera is mounted about 30ft in the air, and bolted and cabled onto our weather tower.
Our tower has several weather sensing instruments including, temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind speed/gust, rainfall, berometer, uv index, and radiation, along with our weathercam which is a powerful weatherproof camera with pan-tilt-zoom.
