Services
Miller's Area Heating and Air Conditioning was founded in 1948 by two zealous hardworking men known in town as the Miller brothers.
Jim and Ray Miller started with just one truck and a truckload of know-how and integrity.
They found the town of Grayslake an ideal place to build their dream; so a location in the center of town was chosen as their business location, and after all these years the address is still the same.
In 1975, after 27 years in the HVAC business, Ray decided he wanted more of his time devoted to fishing and less time devoted to work; so he sold the company to Jim. Jim obviously had a plan of his own because at about the same time Ray sold his portion of the business, Jim's son, John, was growing into just the man Jim needed to replace Ray.

Not spending money unnecessarily as a business owner is a smart strategy toward success.
To cut costs, sometimes owners will decide against spending on regular commercial HVAC maintenance, since their systems and equipment seem to be running well.
That is a mistake.
By having regularly scheduled maintenance performed, you are actually saving money in the long run, since many repairs are preventable with regular maintenance.
This saves you money in two ways--the repair itself and you not losing production time from employees who need to stop working due to the HVAC incapacity.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Star program, leaky ducts in attics or crawlspaces can account for 20 percent or more of a home's heating and cooling energy losses.
This results in higher utility bills for you and difficulty keeping your house comfortable.
Run your system, and check all the ducts and joints you can access.
You can seal these yourself with mastic or foil-backed tape.
You should also seal around where the duct meets the wall.
Duct tape is actually not recommended for ductwork, and any fabric-backed tape will deteriorate over time.
