The company was originally an oil delivery company and delivered oil to homes on the North Shore.
Dick Murray was the owner of the company.
He realized that he was losing customers when they had a service problem because he did not have a service department.
He talked to Harold Brainerd who was the service manager for Braun Brothers Oil (the largest oil delivery company on the North Shore) about becoming a partner.
Harold agreed and Murray Heating Service was born.
